Is it dead?

I have a Paphiopedlium orchid, I believe. I got it as a gift and I am sure it was purchased at a grocery store.

It was doing just fine until recently. The flowers fell off. I think I may have watered it too much. Will it survive or shall I toss it out?
Thank you,
Shawn

If the leaves are still green, it is not dead! Paphiopedilums like to be watered just as they approach dryness, or slightly more often; they are less prone to overwatering than many orchids. The plant will likely bloom about once a year for you with proper care.

The leaves are still green so that's good. All the flowers fell off so do I trim the stalks down?

On Paphiopedilums, the old flower stems do not rebloom like sometimes happens on Phalaenopsis, so I expect the stem is already turning brown; go ahead and cut it off. The plant will develop a new growth from its base that should bloom in a year or so.
