Browning leaves

by Gigi
(Switzerland)

Hi,
I have an orchid that has grown two lovely green leaves but two of it's older leaves are brown and withering. Can you please tell me whether and HOW to cut them off?
Thank you and have a great day.
Gigi

Hi Gigi,

Yes, you can cut off dying leaves. Or you can wait for them to dry out and then pull them off (they should pop off cleanly at that point.)

If you cut them off, I recommend sterilizing your cutting tool (scissors, pruners or whatever) to avoid spreading diseases between plants. The easy way to do this is to dunk it in bleach water.

Hope that helps!
